Hello, due to inclement weather, FYPS will be dismissing at 1:00 pm today, January 21st. There will also be a 2-hour late start tomorrow, January 22nd and Friday, January 23rd due to sub zero temperatures. Students will NOT be permitted on the bus without proper winter attire. Students must wear closed-toe shoes to ride the bus. Slides, Birkenstocks, and other open footwear are not permitted. Students must also be dressed appropriately for weather conditions; hoodies alone are not sufficient outerwear in cold weather.

FYPS will be on Fall Break October 13th though October 17th. There will be no school.
Hello, We will be attending the Homecoming Parade beginning at 1:00 pm. Immediately after the parade, students will ride their regular bus home. If you plan on checking your student out, you will need to inform an FYPS staff member beforehand. Students will not be allowed to leave without a guardian.

Thursday September 18th, FYPS Transportation would like to request that families come get the students at the end of their roads, as the busses cannot go on the muddy roads. Thank you.
Due to the excessive amount of rain, busses will not travel on muddy roads. Families who live on rural roads, please meet the bus at the highway.

Fort Yates Public School will hold its annual school district election at the following polling places' Agard
building and Porcupine District Office 0n June 10, 2025. The purpose of the election is to elect 3 school
board members for 3 seats, 1-year term, 2-year term, 3-year term from the Sioux County District #4.
The following individuals have filed to be on the ballot.
James T. Mclaughlin – 2-year term
Austin Kasto – 3-year term
Chance Eagle – 1 year term
**In addition, the official school district newspaper will be included on the ballot, as required every two
years.
**The polls will be open from 10am and will remain open until 7pm on election day June 10, 2025.
